Book Reviews of In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories

I felt these stories were a little too scary for the intended age group. 8 year old, fine -- but 4 year olds...no way! Corpses and heads falling off is just a bit much for a 4 year old, IMO.

I went through a phase as a young person when I liked being scared by ghost stories. My aunt would tell us ghost stories when she would visit us. This book has the one about the girl with the ribbon around her neck. To this day, I remember how surprised I was by the ending. You like a good "boo"?

I loved this book when I was a kid and was happy to come across it again and be able to read it to my older two kids. They love it too!
