I had not read any of Negger's previous books in the series but did not feel lost. It was easy to understand and follow. The book was entertaining, it held my interest, but to be honest, it was nothing special- just a typical romantic suspense. Not bad for a rainy day, a decent read, but you are likely to forget about it not that long after you've read it. There is an somewhat interesting mystery, a steamy love scene or two-but nothing all that original, not an edge-of-your seat read, but sometimes its nice to just sit down and read something nondemanding like this. I would give it three stars out of five.

A US marshall that is being hunted down by a criminal just released from prison. Has romance, & suspense. Too much technical detail, but the suspenseful end was great.

This is one of the books in a series that Carla Neggers writes of people in the US Marshall's office and others working in the law enforcement arm of our government. It is fast paced and a good mystery read

This is the first book I have read of Carla Neggers. I get the feeling I should have read Night's Landing before Dark Sky. I was lost.

The plot was great and the characters were nicely developed. The locations were filled with vivid descriptions whether it was inside of an apartment or outside near a lake. Nice weekend read.

This picks up where Night's Landing left off. It makes a lot of references to Night's Landing. I've read the first book many years ago and had a hard time remembering it. It's not neccessary to have it it before reading Dark Sky but it may help. Plus both are good reads!

This is the first Carla Neggers novel I've read, and while the storyline was intriging I was put off by all the references to what I assumed must be another story by Neggers involving the same characters. They kept refering back to this one case they had worked on before and it detracted from this story. If a person hadn't read the other story, they were lost. One or two references wouldn't have been bad, but there were many and it got to be very tiresome. Maybe I'll see if I can find that other book and see what they were talking about...and then again maybe not.
