Just wanted to let everyone know that Gena Showalter's The Darkest Kiss (2nd in the Lords of the Underworld Series) was available at Borders today.  Even though the release date is listed as June.  I noticed they have done that with several books lately.  Not that I'm complaining or anything.  LOL Just wanted everyone else to know there are copies out there to be had right now.

Thanks!  I'm not too far down on the WL but I get antsy if I'm over 30 in line:LOL:

It changes from time to time but I end up having certain authors and series that if I get my grubbies on them, I drop whatever else I'm reading so I can start the current favorite.

Donna,

I did the same think.  I was actually 1/2 way through Shadow Magic by Cheyenne McCray when I found this one.  Had to drop that and start Gena's book.  What's really strange is that I had dropped another book to read Shadow Magic last week.  So now I've started 3 different books and have yet to finish any of them.

well let me know if it's any better than the first in the series cause that one was not good.  I was very disappointed and i'm a huge fan of Gena's so I know she can do much better.

Just bought my copy today--just couldn't wait on the WL (36 out of 127)    I also picked up a couple of others that I didn't manage to get a good WL place on a few months ago when I lost internet service, Damien-Jacquelyn Frank and The Touch of Twilight by Vicki Pettersson.  Each one was $4.97 at WalMart less my 10% employee discount=)

Oh, yes, I love that 10% walmart employee discount!  I love getting my books at walmart, simply for that reason alone, lol.

It is excellent!  Lucien and Anya are dynamic--I did like this one better than the first, but I like the first one, too.

I agree, it is better than the first.  But then again, I liked the first book too.  I was pleasantly suprised to find myself liking this series. For some reason, the only other ones of hers I have been able to stick with are the Alien Huntress books.  I didn't like the Atlantis series at all.  But I did like Playing with Fire.  I guess it just depends on the characters.  Some I find compelling, some I don't.

So far, I'm really liking the Lords of the Underworld.

Heather, that's strange to me because I LOVED the Atlantis series but did not care for Playing with Fire, probably the only one I've read by her that I didn't like.  I have the Alien Huntress series but haven't started it yet.  For some reason, I'm not getting a "MUST READ THIS NOW" feel from them.

I love all her books, thats why I hate that I didn't like the first lords book so much.

I appear to be the odd one out.  While I  really liked the 1st book in the series, I didn't care for this one.  The first half was a real chore to read and I almost quit reading it entirely.  The second half picked up a bit and it finished as an ok read for me.  While I liked Anya I kept wishing she'd find someone better for her than Lucien - I didn't really care for him as a hero.
