Depressing, horrifying, painful - and beautiful. I highly recommend this book but be warned that there are many graphic descriptions of the horrors of the Holocaust. I could only read a couple of chapters at a time before I had to put the book down simply because I couldn't cope with the agony of the main character for longer than that. This book left me sitting and thinking about it long after I had actually finished reading it.

This book is excellent!! Everyone should read it once. It's a gripping book that had me from the first pages. I could not put it down and read it all in one evening. Some of the true account descriptions of the holocaust left me in a somber melancholy. I became so involved with the characters I could hardly sleep and I wanted to weep. There is a lesson we could all take from this book.
Highly recomend the read!!

Gripping, horrific, heartbreaking and graphic. I could not put this book down. Elia and Aaron's experiences are drawn from the author's extensive research of Holocaust memorabilia in the Jewish museum of Montreal. This book will stay with me for a long time. I recommend it highly.
