Who else enjoys his books? I almost prefer listening to them because he is so hilarious!

Any recommendations for other funny authors?

Hi Colleen -- I love David Sedaris!  I would recommend Augusten Burroughs (although Running With Scissors isn't really for the faint of heart), A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel, and Hypocrite In A Pouffy White Dress by Susan Jane Gilman are all great.  The link that Anna suggested is great!!

I really enjoy Sedaris and prefer listening to hisaudio books.  I listened to Me Talk Pretty One Day and my favorite story was about Bonnie from Greensboro, NC going to NYC.  I listened to that particular story several times and laughed every time.  I have Holidays on Ice and I'm going to listen to it during my drive down south for Thanksgiving.  I've heard that his story of working as an elf at Macy's is hilarious so I can't wait to hear it.

ETA...I have to agree with Tasha about Haven Kimmel.  Her second book, She Finally Got Up Off the Couch, was pretty funny, too.  I'mk also crazy about Bill Bryson.  :)

Augusten Burroughs is not funny. At least, not to me. I read Wolf at the Table and Running With Scissors. Neither of them were humorous. Weren't even that well written. I loved Holidays On Ice, but now I want to listen to it!! :)

I read Naked by David Sedaris. It definitely had a lot of laugh-out-loud moments, but overall, I didn't find it to be as hilarious as others said it would be. To be honest, I'm not sure I would pick up another one of his books, but I can totally see his appeal.

I just finished listenint to Me Talk Pretty One Day on audio.  I agree that he's absolutely funny to listen to!   I got plenty of weird looks for laughing out loud while walking the dog.

I read Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by Sedaris. I found a few stories mildly amusing and a couple were just plain creepy. He didn't appeal to me :-)

I laughed alot during his Speech Therapy sessions.  Several very funny parts.  I also read two other David Sedaris books but "Me Talk..... " is definetly my favorite.  I also listened to one of his lectures and found it to be extremely humorous.  His descriptions of family members is wonderful..   What a family.   I enjoy is younger sister Amy Sedaris and always tune on to any show when she is a guest...   Quirky yet adorable.

I love both the Sedarises!  You might want to check out Laurie Notaro - I love all of her books.
