Back of book: Inspector Ganesh Ghote of Bombay, solves a baffling murder which is also a political hot potato. Ramrao Pendke, heir to a fortune is recovering from a kidney transplant when he is bludgeoned to death. A pet officer of the head of the bombay police forces a confession from a suspect. But Ghote doubts the veracity - and once again must not only solve the mystery but also fight officialdom.

I say: A very entertaining series, well written, wonderfully plotted, full of intriguing characters.
