Well I finally just broke down and bought Dead Until Dark at Borders the other day (as if I don't already have a gianormous TBR at home!)

How fun!  It's really wacky and different and I'm looking forward to the next one!  I've been hearing about Sookie since I joined the site.  Now unfortunately I don't have HBO......

I couldnt' get into it the first time I picked the book up so went on to others but intend to try again later. I did read her S hakespeare series and liked it after I stuck with the first book(which wasn't easy!) but after that I enjoyed that series(no paranormal in that one!). There's also been discussion of these on the mystery and paranormal forums from time to time though the threads are probbly several(or many!) pages down. I think that's where I first heard of them along with Jim Butcher's Dresden files - an urban fantasy series I read the first book in and really liked and now have the next5 in my TBR...

HBO is doing a great job with the series. I read the first 5 in the series a year or so ago and have seen the first two episodes. I didn't know how Anna Paquin would be as Sookie, but she is great! And they nailed her brother....

I love the Sookie Books.  I love the show. I hope they don't keep it  too much like the books.  I pictured Sookie much prettier than Anna Paquin but I still like how she plays Sookie.  Doesn't Sookie have blue eyes in the books?  I minor thing I know. I saw Eric on one of the vampire specials they did before the first show aired.  I was not impressed. I'm not sure how I had Eric pictured but I didn't find this guy sexy at all. But that may change once I see him on the actual show.

I didn't even know True Blood was based on books until yesterday... the first 2 episodes were great!
