Hey, since I'm deaf and am just about to start homeschooling our 3 1/2 yr old son who's hearing, I was wondering if there were any deaf homeschoolers out there (either parents or kids)? Or anyone who's not homeschooling but has deaf kids or are deaf themselves?

For those who are homeschooling, which curriculum do you use with your deaf children?  Just curious.

Hi Jody,

I am an ASL interpreter by profession, but my current occupation is homeschool mom to 2 teenagers. This will be our 6th year.

I used to be an active member of a Yahoo homeschooling group that had several families with deaf children.

The best piece of advice I have for a new homeschooler is to hook up with a local support group. There are usually many seasoned homeschool moms that can help with the adjustments you will be making.

Thanks!  I've already joined an online group for my area, but there are no deaf homeschoolers close by that I know of.  It's always nice meeting other homeschoolers, though!
