is there anything I can do about this. I asked another member if she would be willing to do a deal on some of her books. She accepted the offer and so I ordered a book from her shelf. She then canceled the trasaction without letting me know. The book request fell to the next person with the book on the shelf. I did not know it went to another person until the single title came in the mail. This was not really a book I would have ordered on a 1 for 1 credit.  I marked it as received, because it was not the senders fault.

Is there someone I can report the original person too for not honoring the deal?

I don't think there is much you can do about this.  The most you can do is keep her on a list of folks you don't want to trade with.

Could it be that she accepted the deal and actually planned on honoring it but, something happened that prevented her from honoring it AND prevented her from contacting you?  Have you nicely contacted her to see why she cancelled and didn't contact you?

Do you have an RC that might have gummed up the works? I ask because I've agreed to a few deals only to have the request come through with a condition that meant I had to cancel.

I don't think there really is anything you can do other than sending her a polite PM advising her to PM so the requestor can cancel next time she runs a deal. It was probably an honest mistake and they didn't know the request would get passed on to another member.

This is why I always closely monitor deal books so I can cancel the 2nd request if times out or gets cancelled.  I had one that the member doing the deal forgot to mark it mailed.  I pm'd her but she didn't respond.  I kept close watch and cancelled the 2nd request.  She did mail the books out.
