I made a deal with another member for 4 for 1.  I ordered one book from her shelf.  She accepted and said she would send the other three.  The books were supposed to be mailed by 3/28, so the transaction will time out tonight.  She hasn't printed the wrapper or marked it mail.

Is there a way to keep the book from going to the next person that has it tonight?  Obviously I don't have a deal with them, so I would only be getting 1 book instead of all four.  I don't want to cancel today on the off chance that she does try to mail it.  I just don't want the next person to accept before I have a chance to cancel the request.

Do you think there is any point to PMing her?  She should already be getting the e-mails asking if she's mailed the book, so I don't imagine that an e-mail about a PM from me would encourage her to mail much more.

You've got nothing to lose at this point. I would definitely try to pm her.

Maybe, something happened and she has lost power or isn't online.  If it were me, I would cancel the transaction before it timed out, and send her a message explaining what you did and why, and letting her know you hope everything is okay and would be willing to reorder if she still wants to do the deal.

Best of Luck!

Thanks.  I sent her a PM and told her I'm going to cancel it tonight, but would consider reordering at a later date if she still wants to do the deal.

I'm just a little frustrated because this is the third transaction in a week that the sender accepted the request then didn't mail the book.  The other two went to the next person in line and the books are now on their way, but it makes for a long wait for me.  But it isn't her fault I've had the other experiences, so I tried to be as nice as possible in my PM. :)

I would cancel it too before it gets passed on to the next person.  If there was a problem she can always PM you and explain and you can reorder the books form her. The next person has no obligation to offer a deal. But if it gets passed on to the next person and they are one of those people who print the label immediately-then you are at their mercy as to whether or not they will cancel the request.  Some people print lables immediately so the request can't be cancelled-personally I usually wait until I'm going to mail-because I'd rather have someone cancel then get PMs asking me to cancel and dealing with that issue.  At least if the requestor cancels you keep your place in FIFO.  Still some people have limited computer access and have to print right away.

Okay, new question concerning this transaction - is it possible for her to have my address without it showing that she's printed the wrapper?  I thought that you had to click the print wrapper button to get the address and it shows the transaction as printed even if they closed the page without actually printing the wrapper.  Meaning once you open it in Adobe or Preview, the system counts it as printed.

I ask this because she responded to my PM and said she had the books ready to go and was going to mail them in the morning.  This makes no sense to me because it still doesn't show it printed and if she'd marked them mailed in the morning, the transaction would have already rolled to the next person.  It still doesn't show that she's printed it, though she did say she would mark it mailed tonight.  So fingers crossed that I get my books without hassle!

I think even if she used the hand write the address button it would still show as printed and you would not be able to cancel.  This is to prevent people from wrapping up books only to come back from the post office to find the transaction cancelled.  Maybe she has gotten the books together and the box she's going to use and will print the label tonight sometime.  I would keep a close eye on it because it will reorder the book for you if it's not marked mailed by 11pm.  I don't know if that adjust for time zone.  I think it does but I dont' remember from when I lived on the West Coast. I believe it gave until 11pm in all time zones. So if she's a West Coaster it could only be 5.49 to her.  I'm not sure how that works.

I would pm her and say "if I don't see the wrapper printed and it marked mailed by x time I'm going to cancel the order so I don't end up with teh book coming from someone else".

Good advice above.  Better to cancel the transaction and reinstate later than get the book(s) defaulted to another member and printed immediately.  Congrats on your patience, and good luck!
