I've been telling all my real-life friends (who are on paperback swap) about the deals on the Bazaar, but some said it takes too long and/or is hard to dig through multiple separate offers.... SO, if you have a deal ending within the next week, please post here so my friends (and others) have only ONE thread to look through!  :)  TIA!

Why is this so difficult to put them all in one place???  :((  I thought this would be sooooo much easier and generate more sales for everyone.....

Personally I'd much rather see generic sales (2-for-1, 3-for-1 etc.) put in one post each and every month (or even each week if you prefer), it would make this board approximately 10,000 times easier and faster to read, plus save so many of the sales posts having to constantly be bumped up!!

I'm not sure how putting them all in one thread would make it easier for anyone - to me, it would complicate matters. And besides, that's nearly the entire point of this whole forum - deals. Why put them all on one thread?!

The most difficult part would be listing the freebies that are going off of everyone's shelves in one thread. Most of us request that the people ordering from us both PM and list in our thread what freebies they take. It's important to list freebies in the thread because 1) we know who is first with a request, who is second and so on and 2) since we're not all on this site 24/7 it allows those who are requesting to see what books have been requested as freebies if we  haven't been back online to pull them from our shelves yet.

It would get very confusing for me (as an example) to sift through tons of posts for tons of others shelves to find the ones that pertain to me. And for me, and many others, listing freebies on a thread is essential. In fact, if people are ordering deals from a person and not listing freebies I don't order from that shelf usually. It just gets too complicated not knowing right away what's available and what isn't.

I prefer individual threads because most people post their freebies so I iknow what's taken before I look...

I have a two-one point offered and a pretty good shelf thru the next few days. It's not 600 books but they are qualiity.

Hope that helps and PM me with your second request!

Regards,

Carly

You're right I have opened a few threads that have books listed individually or as they are taken.  But others do not, and when I tried running a special of my own I found it just as easy to deal through PMs.  The minute something is requested as the freebie I remove it from my shelf, so there's no way someone could then request it it won't be there anymore!  :)  I guess that only works when you keep a small shelf though--those with multi-hundreds of books could never keep up.

Oh well, just trying to make it easier for those with limited time to browse!  Oops, meant to add if everyone here is happy with the way it is then who am I to argue?  :)  I've only been on pbs a month or so, though I've managed to spend entirely too much time here already LOL

Patricia - You might want to rethink the only having them PM you on the freebies. I could be the only one that  avoids deals without the freebies listed on the thread but unless you're on your shelf or this site 24/7 no one could possibly keep up with every freebie requested from a shelf the minute it happens. I don't think the size of the shelf has anything to do with it - it's for those requesting the books. Then we can see what is still available and what someone has taken for their free book(s). And we can see what we missed - you know like 'darn if I'd only been a few minutes earlier!' lol

It's disappointing to request a deal only to find out the books aren't available especially if you're coordinating sets to read in order or what-have-you. So it could be easier for you but not for those ordering. Just a thought - but that could just be my anal personality showing through! :)
