Is anyone else bothered by all the topics that are deal postings?  I think they are supposed to be listed in the book bazarre so that topics can be able the books themselves.  Wading through all the deals to get to the rest is too much trouble in this forum.

I actually get what you're saying but I don't mind both deals and topics about chick lit being on here.  I look for deals all the time on chick lit and its easier to find deals here because I know the bookshelves have chick lit or they wouldn't be posting the deal here.  Am I making sense?  This forum is not so active to begin with so I don't see someone having to go wading through so many pages, but that's just my opionion.

I don't mind the deal posts at all - who could get angry at getting  two (or three) good chick lit books for one credit? Nor could I get angry at someone asking for deals either. That's part of what makes this site work so well ... the deals.  IMHO, anyhow. Anyone can post a topic and since deal posts can only be bumped once  a day (per BB, anyhow) they'll quickly fall to the bottom if no one is interested.  I think there is room for every thing on here.

I know that it was an issue in the L&R forum.  People compained and R&R said deals were only to be done in the BB.

That being said, I too don't mind seeing the deals.  When I look for a deal, I tend to want a specific genre.

okay, I get the drift and I'm way in the minority.  So to join in, I'm going to go check out all the deals!!

It's a pain in the love and romance because there's a lot of activity there and 'good' posts that could be used as 'references' for years get pushed off the last page with every new post. Personally I'd like a stick for the deals there 'cause like someone said earlier, who'd be mad at getting a great deal in the genre you read?? but a sticky would be nice...

I agree with both sides. In the more active forums it would be irritating but there aren't really alot of posts here anyway so it doesn't really bother me.It's easier to find the types of books you are looking for (for deals) if they are listed within the genre. A way to keep everyone happy would be to make one deals thread in each forum and have all the deals posts go under that thread.:) Justa a thought:)

Just to throw this into the mix, the help center says (they have it in red, so it's REALLY SERIOUS ha ha):  Topics advertising your bookshelf should NOT be started in any forum but the Book Bazaar.

So, officially we are not allowed to advertise here.  Having said that, I am guilty of doing so anyway because other people do it.  I'm just following the herd.  :)

It would be nice if each of the specific genre forums had like a tab at the top - one tab for book/author discussion, and the other for deal posting.  I agree with the idea that deals should be posted on genre specific forums because the book bazaar is too comprehensive.

I am not bothered at all by seeing deals here. I actually like seeing them here because then I know they are deals on chic lit and not harlequin and all the others you find alot in the book bazaar. I think it is rather difficult to find good chic lit deals in the bb forum.

This forum isn't very busy anyway, so I think the chic lit deals should keep on coming! Or just PM me the chic lit deals! ;) lol

What bothers me is when people who aren't offering deals just say I added more chic lit to my shelf, etc.

Hi Ladies!  Here's an idea if the deals posted on here bother some...why not have one post every month for chick lit deals?  All the deals can be on one post, and whoever posts their deals can edit when they need to.  Book Bazaar has some regular monthly posts like this and it's very convenient to have it all on one place.

I notice Jennifer posted below asking who had chick lit deals and no one responded yet, but maybe the thread title could be something like that:  "September:  Who Has Chick Lit Deals?"

It could be bumped to keep it on the first page, or if anyone knows how to "sticky" a post they could do it.

Just a thought!

I personally like the deals - I just don't like reading posts that say I listed this book. (when there are already tons of the same book listed on pbs!)

Bonnie- I agree with you! I was thinking of making a thread like that myself but I wasn't sure if I should or not but ...I'm going to go start a new thread for deals now! :)
