The child comes upon the hut of an old man, who gives her shelter, and she repays his kindness by serving him faithfully for what she thinks are three days. Actually, thirty years pass. When she finally leaves to return to her mother, the old man hands her a rosebud and says: "Never fear. When this rose blooms, you will be with me again."« less
