I was just saddened to learn of the death of Ariana Franklin (Diana Norman), author of the "Mistress of the Art of Death" series in January this year.  It may have already been reported here, but I hadn't heard.  She was 77 years old, brief article here:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12309949

That's very sad. Thank you for the link. I've enjoyed all of her books in the Mistress of the Art of Death series and was looking forward to more. The Diana Norman ones - they were okay historicals, but didn't make me stay up till 3 AM the way the others did. .

Yes, I loved the Mistress of the Art of Death series.  I'm really going to miss Adelia Aguilar  and her creator, and will always wonder about Rowley's fate.

NO WAY ----- that's awful! I was so impressed with MISTRESS OF THE ART OF DEATH books, love the Medieval period and had just found the last book in HC in, of all places, a bargain bin for just a few dollars.

I didn't realize she was in her 70's. What a loss to readers around the world.
