M.M. Kaye was one of my favorite authors. She lived in the countries where her books take place, and the settings are historical. After visiting Berlin, I reread this book, and enjoyed it all the more for having seen the remnants of the Wall, etc, Some of the places she wrote of are still in existance, some are not.

I've been a fan of M.M. Kaye since reading her "The Far Pavilions." This is one of her mysteries. It takes place in Berlin during the late 40s when the Allies still occupied Germany and concerns a theft which took place before World War II even started. Now someone is murdering people who might know too much.

MM Kaye wrote her "Death in" series a long time ago, but I still find them to be enjoyable reads.
