I wasn't really expecting to like this book, and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be literate and fun. Good mystery story mixing historical figures like Winston Churchill & the duchess of Marlborough with fictional husband and wife sleuths Charles & Kate Sheridan. Part of the Victorian Mysteries series, and I'd definitely read more of these!
I love this series- beside being just a good read, there are many historial factswritten in each book. I got a history lesson with each book-school should hace been this fun.
Another good Robin Paige story.
Another in a great series with wonderful historical side notes
Not my favorite of this series, but an easy, cozy read.
This is one of the best books in this series, and I love this series. Consuelo Vanderbilt, the Duchess of Marlborough, and Gladys Deacon both sound fascinating enough that I've ordered books to read more about their very real lives. Excellent book!!!
In 1903, Kate Sheridan works on a book at Blenheim Palace about the love affair between Henry II and Rosamund, who may have been killed at the hands of Eleanor of Aquitaine. The disappearance of a household maid and a mysterious woman trying to sell the Marlborough gems, and a duke and his teenaged mistress going missing all contribute to a new mystery to solve.
Historical mystery with real life characters worked in. Set in Edwardian England with mild love interests. I will not be reading others in the series, but am interested in one of their source books.
This is the 11th installment in this series of Victorian/Edwardian mysteries.
