Although the book On Death and Dying by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross was written some time ago and focuses on the way professionals interact with terminal patients it also gives perspectives from the patient's and love-one's view. It does not matter how long ago you lost a loved one; the grief can feel like it began yesterday even though years have passed. This book is an important read for everyone; it is in part clinical, personal, educational and enlightening. It will help you understand the grief process and guide you in your support for someone who is dying.

Book premised current age of Grief Recovery, self-help, and the Dr. Phil following. Kubler-Ross was (and is) a pioneer in the field of Psychology and this study of grief is the ultimate resource on the stages of grieving. A must read for anyone curious about sociology, psychology, or the way people act and why. Stages are clearly described and written to be easily applied to a myriad of situations where someone suffers loss...provides insight and knowledge that the reader will use regularly for the remainder of their lifetime. Highest recommendation given!!

I haven't actually read this book, though we discussed it in college. It is a classical psychology text on human mortality.
