I received a note from Kindergartner's mother saying, "I'm sorry Tracie couldn't be at school yesterday.  We had a death in the family."    When Tracie handed it to me she said "Here's the note to tell you we had to go shopping with Aunt Carol."     At least kids are honest!

Sorry.  I meant to post this and my other post under the topic 'Unusual letters parents send.'

I bet you get a lot of crazy and (unfortunately) dishonest notes from parents.  That's a shame.  It occurred to me, though, that the excuse in the note AND the child could've been both truthful.  Often when there is a death in the family a shopping trip to get appropriate clothes and/or shoes to wear to the funeral is needed..  I may be wrong, but it was just a thought.
