I adore this series but I had a harder time with this book. It's just that eight books later from the start Lily and Rule are still not married. Needless to say, it moves really slowly but there are a lot going on. This book doesn't really get going until about 1/3 or more into the story. When I got to the last 40 paqes of the book I was shocked that there weren't going to be more. Regardless it was a good read once it got going with nonstop things going on. Lots of action.
Definitely read the other books of the series first because I did and it still took a little bit to remember everything so I wouldn't be lost. The first few books are more paranormal romance but then the rest are more urban fantasy (as this one is).
Decent read.
I love this series. Almost as much as the Dark Days series by Jocelyn Drake. Not quite as much as the Anita Blake series . I can't wait for the next book, Mortal Ties due in the fall. I am also glad that Benedict has a bond mate now. The one who cannot be named is getting nastier, but then so are the good guys who can be named. Don't want to give anything away but well worth reading this series. I wonder what would happen if Cullen became mate bonded. He is not mate bonded to Cynnia even though they are in love. Their roles are the same but moving in different circles. Oh well, no use speculating. Eileen Wilks is great a twisting a spellbinding world with many different colored threads.
