Silva promises much and never disappoints.

Art Restorer and Mossad spy Gabriel Allon is sent to Vienna to investigate a bombing that gravely injures an old friend who works for the WarTimes Claims and Inquiries. Along the way, he discovers his mother's past during the war and a man who would resort to anything to keep his identity a secret from the world.

As with all the other Daniel Silva books the story line is excellent and the plot ever changing, but integrating a portrait and an SS Nazi and making it plausible was amazing. As soon as we put down one we are reaching for the next. bogie & tene'

Excellent fast-paced mystery/thriller.
