Takes a while to get into - about 75 pages or so - then it takes off. An unusal murder mystery.

Interesting look at the publishing world and how it could affect the authors. The protagonist has written one successful book but was unable to get his career up and going. He settled for a career as a college professor. He has to cater to a visiting author he knew in the past and that with his unhappiness with publishing, decides to kill himself. Lots of twists, not what you would expect.
