Did you print postage (and delivery confirmation) from the site? Or did you use stamps or buy postage at the post office?

You can print delivery confirmation directly from PBS for an extra fee, or you can just use delivery confirmation at the post office.  For me, it seems like my books take on average about a week to arrive, depending on where they're coming from of course!

I use PBS I pay for postage and DC  on this site it seems to be the easiest way to go.  But how can I track the package?  Is there a website I can go to?  I want to make sure members are recieving the books I send them!  Also is there a website where I can purchase CHEAP shipping supplies like packaging tapl and bubble wrap and envelopes?  I read that FED EX has free envelopes??? Where can I get these?

Not sure if this is exactly what you're asking, but I know that when someone using printable postage sends a book to me, then on the 'Books En Route to Me' tab, there's a green check mark next to my address that I can click on and see where the book is.  I don't use printable postage, so I'm not sure if you can do that on your end to or not...sorry, maybe not much help!

You can track it by clicking the green check mark in the "Books I Mailed" section.

And yes FedEx has free envelopes. You can get them out of their drop boxes. They are so great for wrapping. They are made of tyvek which is water and tear resistant. :)

Understand that 'Delivery Confirmation' is not a tracking service. USPS only requires the package to be scanned upon delivery. As your package is processed through the system, it may pass through equipment that automatically scans the barcode, but this equipment isn't available everywhere. (That's the scanning information you'll see when you click the 'Details' button on a book you've mailed or one on its way to you.) Having said that, USPS.com is where you can 'track and confirm' your package.

Those who have requested books from you will mark the book received here at PBS. And with media mail, PBS allows 30 days for those books to be received.

Please note that the FedEx envelopes are meant to be used for FedEx shipments.  While there isn't any punishable policy yet that I am aware of like the USPS has in place and maybe they can't because they are not a public entity, I'm sure FedEx won't be happy that you are using their supplies for postal shipping.  You'll want to flip the envelopes inside out so that the FedEx logo isn't showing.

You can buy two-for-a-dollar bubble wrap envelopes at most dollar stores.  That's what I do.  Also, I save all bubble wrappers from books that are mailed to me and reuse them.

I am hoping for the best for 7 packages I sent out on Wednesday. Usually when I send them out from my post office, they get the "acceptance" scan at most 2 hrs. later. But now it's been over 24 hrs. and still no acceptance scan. Should I be worried? I do usually send them from there on a Friday and they are OK. So maybe I'll wait another 24 hrs. and cross my fingers.

There are no punishments in place Susan. I made sure. :) And I do flip the logos inside out. Any other suggestions?

I buy Scotch bubble mailers at Sam's Club...size 2, 8 1/2 x 11. They come in a box of 25 for $6 and something.  I think it's $6.71 but not sure of the change.  I think it is a good deal.  Sure saves me the hassel of wrapping, especially, when I'm in a hurry to do other things.  I also recycle those sent to me by others if they are in good condition.

I like using the pbs postage and confirmation.  It's fun to look at the map and check out the mail truck.  It sure seems the media mail has been travelling much faster than it did a few years ago.  Watch out, though.  The holidays are coming up when the post office is inundated with tons of stuff.  Then the mail delivery  will slow down.

Mike S, did your credits show up? I am in the same situation, waiting for the 7 I sent yesterday to show up. It hasn't been 24 hours yet, but usually they show up by now.

I did get my credits finally, but 5 of them I did not get until they were actually delivered. :(
