I just received a book with 27cents postage due. I couldn't care less about the postage due-27 cents isn't going to "break" me and the carrier thoughtfully left me a little envelope to put it in-I don't even have to go to the PO to pay them.

My question is this...should I tell the sender? Should I put a comment to PBS in the comment box on the feedback section? It was printed on the PBS label as First Class.  I figure she didn't notice it , just put enough stamps on it for Media Mail and put it out for the carrier.

I first thought it might be a helpful suggestion to let her know to look to see what postage class the label prints. But I don't want to come across  as a "bee-yotch", know it all or a tattletale. And I SURELY don't want her to mail me the 27 cents !!!

Should I gently call it to her attention or just forget about it? I'm sure this has come up in the past but I'm a relative "newbie".

Thanks for any suggestions on how to handle this diplomatically ;-)

I would want to know if I were sending out books without enough postage (it's not from me, is it? LOL!).

I would appreciate a note if I had sent it.

Yeah, I'd tell her, and you could say something like this, as I have done in the past:

"Thanks for sending the book.  Just an FYI - when the book arrived, it arrived with postage due.  I paid it, it's no problem, but I just wanted to give you a friendly head's up about this.  The PBS estimated weights are not always accurate."

This probably goes back to something being discussed in another thread, the postage figured by PBS's system isn't always correct.  Perhaps that member when by what PBS said the postage would be??  Telling him/her about it would be a good idea.

Thank you ALL for your input! No, it wasn't any of you  teeheehee.

Since you all agree, I'll nicely let her know.

Was it postage due because it went as first class and not media mail?  If so, I'd definitely PM her to let her know to check the weight and make sure it's marked "media mail".

I sent her what I thought was a nice friendly note and got a nice friendly note in reply *big smile of relief*. Everything's fine. My main concern was offending the sender.  She didn't take offense and was very gracious.

Again, thanks to all of you for your good advice.
