Did USPS get rid of D.C.?? I went to the post office the other day and looked for those green labels for delivery confirmation and the clerk told me they got rid of d.c. and now all there is, are the pink slips which is signature confirmation.
Could someone please provide some insight for me. I have gone to two different post offices close to me, and both seem confused as ever with all the changes that have been made since Jan. I was using PBS printable d.c. but no one could figure out how to do it! And I lost out on some money. I called USPS and filed a complaint. It is just so frustrating. I even gave the clerk the print out instructions PBS provided, and they refused to even look at them!
I have now just decided to print the postage from PBS to save me from getting a headache...but I am still curious and would like some helpful answers :)
Thanks in advance! |

DC is now called "tracking", you don't have to do signature confirmation. Go to usps.com they have lots of info. |

USPS no longer uses those bright green labels. Delivery Confirmation has been re-named to USPS Tracking, and the sticker (white with pink band) is applied at the counter. All packages now receive a tracking sticker, if the customer pays for the service the number appears on your receipt and is trackable. If the customer doesn't pay for the service, only USPS internal services can track the package. Pre-printed Tracking (formerly PBS e-DC) is still valid, but the software was updated with the rate change in January and alot of counter staff still doesn't know how to properly scan in Tracking under the new system. For this purpose, PBS has a new help document and recommends those still having issues should print a copy and take it in for your PO counter staff. I know that it shouldn't really surprise me, but I'm actually kind of amazed that more than three months after the rate change went into effect, there are still USPS POS units that haven't gotten with the program... |

No surprise Ed, even before the rate/software change there were USPS employees who didn't have a clue what to do with e-DC...some insist it's theft or scamming the Postal Service. One wonders what century they are living in? Last Edited on: 4/30/13 10:12 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Prior to January 27th, my exposure to those clueless USPS personnel were few and far between, Denise.... I guess that I was just fortunate, huh? |
