Pretty good read. Cord's treatment of Maggie gets ugly at times, but maybe it justs makes it sweeter when he finally admits he loves her.

Good book. Follows "Lord of the Desert" in which Maggie is on vacation with her friend, Gretchen, when she gets the call Cord has been hurt. These two books are seperate stand alone books and do not need to be read together.

Mercenary Cord Romero and his now grown-up and surprisingly beautiful childhood friend Maggie Barton team up to destroy a child labor ring that is led by Cord's must elusive enemy, the hateful Raul Gruber. Although their relationship is anything but warm when they first start working together, Cord and Maggie soon give in to years of pent-up sexual longing. The character of Maggie Barton has also appeared in the book LORD OF THE DESERT.
