Hey ya'll. So, I recently became a single mom, and took the plunge, and am going back to school. I have a bunch of books picked out to use in my College classes, but have no credits left.

So Please Please take a look at my bookshelf and see if there is anything you may want. Any little bit helps!

Thanks so much!

Sarah

Can you give us a list of books that you need for your college classes?  We may be able to help you.  Vicky

Thanks so much guys!

I am looking for forensic and Criminal Justice books. I have 12 hrs of college credits already. Long story short, I dropped out of high school when I was younger due to many family issues and overall just a bad life setting. So, I had my son, and decided right away that I owed it to him and myself to get my high school diploma. I graduated with honors, and decided that I wanted to keep going. I was on the Deans list all through college, and then my financing fell through before my next semester because there was a fraud alert on my ex husbands account stemming from him being robbed in Vegas in 2001. And...since he was my cosigner, I couldn't go back.

Well, now that I am a single mom, the grants are flowing in and I have the funds available for another year of college! I am in the process of re-enrolling in Colorado Tech. online. I am so excited as I feel that I have been in a "rut" of sorts for the last few years, and now I am getting the chance to make my dreams come true. I am going to get my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice, and hope to pursue a career in working with Juveniles.

So, I am generally looking for anything Criminal Justice, or even Juveniles. I just ordered two books for forensics. I am also needing a book or two on Psychology, preferably with Juveniles. If anyone may have any ideas at all please please let me know! Its just a lot cheaper to find books then pay the total tuition fees for them. And, my professors are very understanding as far as funds and books available.

Thanks so much everyone!

Sarah,

My son is majoring in Software Engineering so his books aren't much help.

My daughter started out in teaching, switched to psychology and then to veterinary technology (LOL) and I still have a couple of her books.

I'll list them here:

     Life-Span Human Development                ISBN 0534553508

Study Guide for  Myers Exploring Psychology       ISBM 0716786729 (softcover)

I also have:

Fundamentals of Physics 7th Edition                     ISBN 0471429597

Life The Science of Biology                                  ISBN 0716798565

If any of these are of any use to you, please let me know.

Carol

Sara,

I too was a single mom who went back to school for my master's degree when my son was in elementary school so I understand where you are right now.  Keep your chin up and keep smiling and everything will work out great.  I've buddied you a few credits to help you find some books.  Hug your son and make us single mom's proud.

:)

P.S. Make sure you check out your university's support services.

They might be able to hook you up with free babysitting during classes, free tutoring, scholarships specifically for use at the bookstore... Programs vary by university. And keep asking around in different departments. Different sections of the university (Academic Support, ResLife, etc) never talk to each other and have no idea what the other offices are offering.
