At stake is the life of the wife of an M. P. who has been kidnapped by a gang of terrorists. She is to be tortured and killed unless her husband arranges for the release of their leader in prison for the gang's bank robbery. The preparation for the fake exchange, the efforts to foresee every contingency, and the hair-raising climax give the reader more than the requisite thrills and chills.« less
