Okay, this is soooo probably the wrong forum for this, but since this is the only forum I frequent and I trust you guys' opinions, I decided to post it here.

Anyhoo, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the show Dexter.  I even named my dog Dexter.  But I haven't watched this past season so far and from things I was hearing, I'm afraid that I'm going to be disappointed.  WIthout giving away any spoilers, anyone have opinions?

I didn't like Julia Stiles at all I thought they could have found some better to play her part. It pretty much starts off exactly where the last season let off with Dexter holding his Harrison covered in blood and gets weirder from there. He is coping with Rita's Death and Deb is in a snit worse than usual throughout the whole series. Debs got a lot of shit going on and really doesn't pay allot of attention to Dexter she tries to comfort him though neither one of them are good at that.

I think in episode 4 is when Julia Stiles character is introduced and from then on the show pretty much centers on her and dexter and everything else going on takes the back burner. Dexter is still worried about Harrison but he gets him help. And Astor and Cody are gone pretty much throughout the whole season there is a part toward the beginning and the end where you see them again.

Quinn is making things hard for Dexter he think Dexter had a part in Rita’s Death. But Mostly the whole season is about Dexter saving Lumen (Julia Stiles) from herself after he really saves her life.  I think he raps the fact that he couldn't save Rita up in this big wierd box and tries to project it to Lumen and he's bound and determined she is going to live.  I wouldn’t say I was disappointed in this season though I won’t be sad if Julia goes.  I just think they left it a little more wanting than previous seasons.  There were some extremly great parts where I just sat there with my mouth open thanking OMG.  Then there were some parts where I felt Dexter would know better.  If you like Dexter more uncaring and unfeeling you might be a lot dissapointed in this season it also seemed that they were trying to give dexter more feelings if that helps?

Its hard to tell you about it without giving major spoilers I hope I didn't if you need to know anything else just ask : )

Yeah, that definitely makes me want to watch it more than I did.  I'm so afraid of them screwing up my favorite shows that sometimes I put it off.  The first few seasons I would never dream of missing an episode, let alone the whole shabang.  I heard a spoiler about Rita still plays some sort of part in this, but not as a ghost.   I still can't believe they killed off Rita.  I happened to like her.
