Another good but not great book. The book is only 375 pages long but it has taken me 4 days to read it. It was sooooo sllloooowwww. The story and the characters were good but it dragged out and wandered around until it finally got to the point. Its a 3 out of 5 and I will probably not be reading the other books.

Well written vampire story set in a world that is not too fantastic, but more like an alternate history/ middle ages type world, where elves are known to exist and vampires and other undead are rumored to exist, but they are thought of as a superstition by most.
On the cover there is an asinine blurb that says that this book is a combination of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lord of the Rings. If by that you mean that there are vampires, like in Buffy and elves, like in LOTR; then yes, it is EXACTLY like those stories.(only completely different.)

Slow to get started, but nicely drawn characters and eventually proves a likeable, if not top-rate, time passer.
