Diana West (b. 1961 in Hollywood, CA ) is a nationally syndicated conservative American columnist and author. Her weekly column for the Washington Examiner is syndicated by the Newspaper Enterprise Association and appears in about 120 newspapers. She is the author of the book The Death of the Grown Up: How America's Arrested Development Is Bringing Down Western Civilization (St. Martin's Press, 2007).
West has contributed essays and features to many publications including: The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard, The Washington Post, The New Criterion, The Public Interest, and Women's Quarterly. She has also written fiction for The Atlantic Monthly and has been a columnist for The Washington Times and Scripps Howard News Service. As a CNN contributor, West frequently appeared on the Lou Dobbs shows. She blogs at dianawest.net and Andrew Breitbart's Big Peace.
In 2001, she won second place for editorial writing in the Maryland-Delaware-DC Press Association Contest (largest daily division). In 1990, she won a first place prize in feature writing from The National Newspaper Association.
