Four KING novellas, of which 3 were made into movies. !. Shawshank Redemption..2. Apt Pupil..3. Stand by Me. If you are into the horror genre it just doesn't get any better than this...

Very good read. For me, each story was better than the one before it. The Body and The Breathing Method were certainly my favorites.

Comprised of 4 novellas written by Stephen King, stories of the non-creepy variety. The movies "Stand by Me" and "Shawshank Redemption" are based on 2 of the novellas. I give them 3 out of 5 stars.

The "Shawshank Redemption" movie was fairly true to the book. However, I felt the book was a little better. Stephen King does a great job of giving you the substance of the characters, both in the realm of the facade a prisoner must maintain to survive, and of the inner anguish a prisoner struggles against to stay whole. You get to know Andy and Red, inside and out, and this is what makes the book so very compelling.

This is a little confusing, four books in one. Includes Shawshank (was made into movie w/Tim Robbins & Morgan Freeman)..plus 3 other stories..

The story in this book that I read was shawshank redemption because I was hooked on the movie. I didn't read the other 3 stories.
