This is a very long book. It is a hardback book that is 535 pages long. The print is small and there is much print on a page. What happened to the author and her friend was a heinous crime. It is interesting how she goes back to Oregon, 15 years later, to try to solve the crime, since there was never an arrest made, but I felt the book was overrated and overwritten. The author was obsessed with the story and thus it was too detailed and repetitious. There was too much of the author's introspection and philosophizing. It needed to be condensed.

This book was way too long! I felt like there were parts of the story that didn't need to be in the book and it would have been better. I enjoyed parts of it, but the trudging through made it not so good. I rarely don't finish a book - and so I made it through this one, but I didn't enjoy it.

The only complaint I have about this book is that it was way too long. It's amazing that this woman came through her experience physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. I don't think I'll ever forget her story.

Very detail true account of a woman's struggle to regain her identity and seek justice after a horrific attack. The book tells how the crime affected the town and its people also, as well as the commomn knowledge of who did it.

The beginning of this book is difficult to get through, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Further along the book becomes very interesting, and overall I enjoyed this one.

My heart went out to MS Jentz and MS Weiss concerning their encounter with human evil, however and having said that, the book was far too long with far too much repetitions.
