I read--and loved--Heim's "Mysterious Skin" a while back. This revisits some of the same theme; recovered memories of a traumatic event. While it certainly held my interest, it wasn't nearly as good as his other. It never quite rings true for me, andthough questions are answered at the end, it still leaves a lot of lingering confusion.
