I received a book that was on my WL and was so excited about it. I wanted to get it read because I see it's on someone else's WL and there are no copies in the system. I thought "Yay! I can repost it, send it out and get another credit to get another WL book".  Imagine my disappointment when, as I'm reading it, I discover pages that are so stained that I simply cannot repost this book. I didn't come across any stained pages until about halfway thru the book. What it looks like is someone was eating while reading the book and didn't clean their hands before handling the book. From all outside appearences, the book LOOKS like it meets all requirements. There is a small (less than 1 inch) rip in the cover. I'm just very disappointed.

If the book is wishlisted, you may post in in the books bazaar or add a note to the bottom of you posts.  Many people will give a credit for a book with minor issues like stains, etc if the book is in otherwise good condition and readable.

Thanks. When I finish it I will do that. The book is readable. I just don't feel I should post it to my regular bookshelf because of the stains. One page was pretty bad, but was still able to be read.

Quick tip, when you cevieve a book flip through it a bit before you mark it recieved that way your not as likely to run across damage later on.

You might try PMing the person  you got the book from.   They may be willing to give you your credit back even after you marked it received without a problem.

Thanks for the advice. From now on, I will flip thru the books I get before marking them received. And I did think about PM'ing the person I got the book from. Whether I get my credit back or not doesn't matter. But at least this person will know what happened. It's possible they didn't read the book and has no idea the condition of these pages.
