I have a WL book that I bought new at a discount book store.  They take a sharpie and mark the bottom edges of all their books with a straight line near the spine.  The line doesn't obscure text, doesn't bleed into the pages.  Nothing.  You see it on the bottom of the book though.  Is this postable?

This is called a remainder mark and books marked this way are completely postable.

Boy, I'm glad to hear that, I got my second one today from PBS.  I wondered what that was all about.

Our UBS marks books that way to color code how long they have been on the shelf.

I am glad to hear that too!  I frequent a used bookstore and noticed they put a reminder mark on their books.  After I bought them I got worried I wouldn't be able to post them.  Glad to know it's ok!
