I'm a big fan of Ms. Laurens! I love her regency books! Particularly the "Bastian Club" series.

This book however, had me struggling to finish it. Way to long, almost 500 pages, and for me the only interesting part came at the end of the book with Dalziel's appearance. Our mystery man throughout the "Bastian Club" series and one we probably won't know about until the series finale. Overall, OK, just not her best IMHO. Enjoy!

Book 5 in the Bastion Club stories. I Really like Stephanie Lauren, because, usually, her women are always independent strong women and her men don't realize that they are the type of women they want and need until it's too late. However, in this one the man had to work hard to convince this lady that she wanted to marry him. I liked it!

This book was not my favorite by this author. A little too much sex and not enough story for me. By the middle of the book, I started to enjoy it more but still felt like I just needed to finish since I don't like to leave books half-way read.

Wonderfully romantic escapism novel. The Bastion Club is a group of English gentlemen returned from the wars with Napoleon who all must marry. They form the Bastion Club and buy a residence in which to meet and share info on prospective brides and which debutantes and managing future mothers-in-laws to avoid. Of course there are mysteries which lead them to meet women they most likely would never have met in Almack's Assembly Room. The struggle between strong willed men and women ensue with lots of torrid romance thrown in.

Fun story about a rake in need of a wife who actually takes his aunts advice and pursues one woman. His choice doesn't impress her, however, and he learns the value of effort. A fun escapade.

I had a very hard time getting through this book. I was bored, almost to tears, for the first hundred pages or so. After that things got a little better but I found it very long and drawn out without much to hold my attention. I am typically a person who can read most anything without wanting to quit before the end. It was close with this one as to whether I wanted to waste my time finishing it. I did finish this book and overall it was okay, if you like the Bastion Club books you'll want to read this one too.
