I have a 2 year old 100lb female doberman named Lexie...well every evening she get to get out of the large dog yard and run and play with her humans in the main yard before she has supper and comes in for the evening...well she had this bad habit of waiting until she got in the main yard and then would potty and we'd have to go get the hand shovels and pick it up and dump it over into the pasture.  Well, one evening my mom just really didn't want to have to do that because her back was hurting so, she walked outside to the gate to the dog yard and told Lexie.."go poo" she said the dog looked at her a minute, turned around and went and poo'd...she has now been doing this every evening for over a week...now a couple times she tried to get by with just peeing but, mom repeated "go poo" and she turned around and went back and did.  So, I now have a dog that will poo on command!!  She is so smart...

When I am on the computer my Maltese is always in my lap.  When I sign off and the voice on AOL says, "GOODBYE"......my Maltese jumps off my lap.  But even better, when I put my away message on and the sound is a small dog yapping she jumps off my lap because she still knows I'm leaving the computer!

Smart and adorable :)

You know, every time I read the title to this thread, I think about my co-worker.  She told me that she's mystified about her dog, because it takes her longer and longer before she poops on her walk.  She actually said "We turn around and go back into the house as soon as she poops, and walks are getting longer and longer.  That's how I know she's taking longer to poop."

After confirming that the dog was healthy, no changes in behavior or eating, and that she reallyreally enjoys going for walks, here's what I didn't say

I didn't say that even if I suspected my dog was smarter than me, I wouldn't tell people about it!!!!

Sharon...your co-workers dog is a smart little devil...don't poop and you get to walk more and be outside...guess your co-worker hasn't figured out yet that she's been outsmarted by her dog huh!!!

Christy - it's like she honestly cannot figure it out!   I'm not crazy about her anyway, mostly because she's dumb and bossy (baaaad combo), so no way am I going to ruin that dog's fun!
