I have read a great deal of David Rosenfelt's publications. Each and every one has had the ability to deprive me of sleep. They were all quite difficult to put down. He is an amazing author with a wonderful sense of humor and wit. His passion for dogs which he incorporates into his stories makes him that much more endearing to me.
I've read all the Andy Carpenter series and this one is on the low side, it takes nearly half the book to finally get into the main story and move it along and the dog part just got a bit too contrived for me. I'll continue reading the series as I like the characters but this one with the military involved, etc. just got to be a bit too much, I get tired of the military always involved in a criminal act for money, does that really happen? I doubt it.
