Anyone have a good rec? My hubby and I know pretty well what we are doing, but we just got a new puppy and the kids want to do sooo much with him I thought it might be a good idea to get them a puppy training book. I'm thinking things like how to walk him on a leash, etc. He's going to be a big dog, so it'd be nice to let them see from another source that we know what we are talking about when we keep yelling at them not to let the dog pull them, etc. May be something with some photos and fairly easy to read. |

Isn't there a Dummies book for dog training? Seems to me that would be simple. I have all sorts of dummy books. |

Thanks, but I think they might be offended by the title. <L> I know it's a popular series and I like it, but they are kids... I found one avail on here that says it's for kids so I ordered it. We'll see. |

One of the best - easy to read books on basic training is How To Raise A Puppy You Can Live With. They also have it on VHS and DVD |

"It's Me or the Dog" by Victoria Stillwell is a good book. I really like her style of training. She also has a show on Animal Planet.
You might also check out local groups who train. Nothing beats being shown in the moment how to make your training better.
