Last night I posted 7 WL books into the system.  Four of them had smoke-related  RC's.  Now while I DO in fact smoke, I do NOT smoke in my home,  However I declined all 4 of them because of the fear that somehow the smell of smoke may have gotten into the book indirectly.  Am I going about this the right way? indecision

I think so.

It's always better to be safe than sorry!  As someone with a smoke-related RC myself, I think that even if a smoker doesn't smoke in the house, the smell of smoke can still get into the things they touch.  For example, at a job I used to have I had a co-worker who smoked on her breaks outside.  Even after she came back in and washed her hands, we could smell the smoke on her for a good fifteen-twenty minutes.

Yes Luv2, you are doing it correctly.  Although I'm a bit surprised you had so many all at once.  Unless the RC is very specific regarding their needs and/or reasoning, it's best for you to decline the smoker ones.  Most of that type are due to allergies, which can range from a mild to put-me-in-the-hospital severe.  Some allergic readers can tolorate light smoke odors, and some can tolorate none at all...so the choice needs to be the requesters.

Hope your next wishers have no smoke RC's and respond promptly!

Oh it was no biggie, they all rolled right over because these books came out in the last month so they went right away.  In fact  6 of the 7 of the books I posted are on their way to new homes.  smiley  I just wanted to make sure I was doing it the right way.

I would say you're doing it right.  Better to be safe than sorry!
