This Iowa author's work has been highly recommended in a number of reviews. Anyone else want to register an opinion on any of his five novels?

LeeAnne, dang it!! Put that book back!! That was MY copy!!

I sincerely believe that you and I need to refrain from reading any of the posts in this forum. We have no restraint when it comes to securing books by unfamiliar, yet highly praised, authors.

Due to your earlier recommendations, I have read all of Craig Johnson's books, and now I am half-way through Michael McGarrity's works. Earlier this past week, debstoiber (Deborah S.) posted about Joanne Dobson's mystery series concerning English professor Karen Pelletier. I made a mad dash to the library and have already read the first two in this series.

It's an illness.

I

need

help.

LeeAnne, I'll have you know that I've already finished both Quieter Than Sleep AND The Northbury Papers. Furthermore, you're not getting your mitts on MY copies of The Raven and The Nightingale and Cold and Pure and Very Dead...well...mainly because these two books are packaged up and on the way to me from another kind PBS'er in New York. Nah, nah, nah.

So, what do you think so far about Quieter Than Sleep? Personally, I thought both books were very well written, and the vocabulary was definitely more advanced than what is normally encountered in most "cozies."

On Dobson's website, there is a notation about a new book coming out in 2009, but I couldn't find an associated ISBN or a release date even after searching the Internet.

Hmph. Maybe I don't want your stinky old books! And besides, I'm telling mom on you!! Nyah! :) ******* I am really enjoying the book so far although, it feels like the author is taking her time in getting to the letter. The writing is definitely a notch above many of the cozies that I normally burn through so that is making my brain happy! (Now I'm going to go check Dobson's website.) Oh...have you voted yet? I'll be so glad when this election is OVER!!
