Hi, I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle this situation.  A book I had on my wishlist became available, but unfortunately, showed up twice in the books I've requested area (both show as being posted at exactly the same time).  It also debited from my account, the two corresponding credits.  At this point, both requests are waiting for the member's approval/acceptance.  I thought about cancelling one, but I'm afraid that if I do that, it might well cancel both.  Right now, I'm thinking that probably the best way to go is to just wait until the member mails off the one book, then cancel the other myself?  Or would you contact/Pm the member and have them cancel it on their end?  Thanks!

Accept both requests and let the poster cancel one. If you do not accept both, the one you do not will go on and be offered to someone else. Maybe accept one and PM the person letting them know that you have the two offers and that you will accept the second one for them to cancel. Both should watch their credit archives to make sure the credits all turn out right.

I would go ahead and pm the member and see if they received 2 request for the book, from you. If so I would cancel 1 or have the sender cancel 1 if they really only have 1 copy to send. If you cancel it might go to the next in line on the waiting list.

Lynn,

If you haven't done anything yet, i would contact the site owners and let them look at this, since it's obviously a glitch.  They are very concerned about providing a high-quality, accurate user experience, and I'm sure they would want to know.

Click "Contact Us - Send Feedback" at the bottom of any PBS page.

Thanks. I've already PM'd the sender, but I can always send another, letting her know that it might be handled through PBS. I appreciate the head's up!
