Anyone like these guys? Along with James Rollins? I absolutely adore these books, and they got my boyfriend WANTING to read (miracles upon miracles). We're running out of their books and I really need some more authors to get Shane interested in. Anyone have any ideas? He loves science-driven books, and books with explosions. Personally, I like a good mix of both.

Thanks!

I love the Preston/Child books, as well as James Rollins.   You may want to try Steve Berry as well.

I actaully had  The Relic sitting around my house and there was a discussion about Preston/Childs in the horror forum that made me read it.I LOVED it so much I went ahead and got the rest of the books that were posted in the system. And whenever I see a book by either author at goodwill I grab it right up.So far I've read The Relic,Relinquery (sp?) Mount Dragon and The cabinet of Curiosities and have had trouble putting down each one once I started it.I don't read them back to back though. Michael Crichton books are pretty good too.I especially liked Prey,Timeline and Jurassic Park .

Stacy

PS- I didn't know Crichton passed away last year:(

If you like James Rollins  you should try Matthew Reilly.

I tried reading both Rollins and Preston/Child. In fact, I did read one of Rollins' books and finished it and the first two (Reliquary and Relic) and I honestly didn't care for them that much...to me, they all read sort of like "B" movies you see on Spike TV with Stephen Segal or one of those guys. I know lots of folks who do love both authors but they just didn't ring my bell. LOL

The only one that I have read is "Still Life With Crows" and it still haunts me!  It is sooo good!  I'm thinking that is just Preston, tho....you know what?   I could be wrong - I'll go look!

  Nope, it's both! Preston/Child

The Pendergast series by Preston/Child are some of my all time favorites. I love James Rollins also. I am actually currently reading Map of Bones by him. I would second the Matthew Reilly suggestion. They are action packed and fast paced. The only thing I find annoying about them are the exclamation points. Anyone who has read them will know what I mean. But aside from that I love them.

I love their Pendergast series! The next installment, "Cemetary Dance", is coming out in May. I like their individual efforts as well.

I enjoy Pendergast books so much! Lincoln Childs has a new one coming in March I believe (Terminal Freeze).

James Rollins is a favorite of mine, and I do enjoy the Preston/childs books as well.   I"ve got a couple Matthew Reilly books waiting to be read :)

Steve Berry is a good suggestion. He writes along the lines of Rollins, but I prefer Rollins' style of writing.
