Tho it got a bit tedious with a little too much detail on the geology and the white water rapids, it's really a good book and worth the read! About John Wesley Powell's first trip down the river in the Grand Canyon, beginning with the Green River.

Fascinating story about the first man to take a boat through the Grand Canyon, compared with modern descents.
