I did not finish this book...but perhaps it is because I work in the field..attorney for children's services...it was depressing to see that children sometimes have bad foster homes...when the fact remains that their biological parents cannot or will not provide a safe home for them. drugs...mental illness...sheer laziness and lack of any judgment.

This is a collection of personal stories written by people who were in foster care at some time during their childhoods. Some of the writers are very well known and successful people. A lot of the stories are intensely moving, a few not so much. Inspiring for those who are or have been in foster care - hey, maybe you should write your story; eye-opening for those who have not. Definitely a worthwhile read!
