I didn't really care for Dream Shadow. Grace is a tracking psychic brought to Brice's town to find a missing child, but that wasn't the real reason Grace was to be there. There were other forces out to get Grace and that was where some of the suspense came from. The plot was not very cohesive and didn't make much sense, IMO. Brice and Grace had zero chemistry and there was a side romance that I didn't care about either. I just hope the next book in this series is better.

This book is really bad. Erotica is not known for good plots, but this one is especially bad. There is very little dialog, the pacing is off, the story makes little sense, and to top it all off, there is hardly any sex! I stopped forcing myself to finish this book and decided I'd just hit the sexy parts, but I could not find any. If you can find anything erotic or sexy in this book, let me know. I missed it completely.

Read this awhile back. As I recall, it's what you would expect from one of the better authors of a non-mainstream publisher. A fairly good story and characters, not enough editing or writing problems to become tedious. Very readable.

Ms. Wine has managed to produce a strong paranormal romantic suspense read for her debut. The storyline is very much character driven and as a result we learned a lot about our hero Brice and our heroine Grace.

I will admit to a few moments of confusion at the beginning of the read when we are initially learning about Grace and her psychic powers. She has been called in to rescue a missing child. She is successful but "senses" another child that has been taken. This secondary plot was weak and in the end we find out who the bad guy is without following up on the abuction of the second child.

As I stated at the beginning of the review overall this was a strong read for a debut effort but it did have it's problem spots. Brice and Grace are strong main characters and their growing attraction is steamy to say the least. This title would fall under the sub-genre romantica. This means that there tends to be a little more steam with the romance, but it's not filler and it's done tastefully. This is an author that I would recommend to any fan of the romance genre.

Erotic romance.
Desperation can have you turning the most unlikely corner-and once you encounter what lies around the bend, your life will never be the same. Sheriff Brice Campbell didn't put much stock in psychics, but that all changed when he met Grace. The Army's best psychic tracker, Grace always finds her target. And when a child goes missing, she's on the case. Only this time, her focus slightly wavers. The cause-Brice. Desire blazes between Grace and Brice, sending them both up in a firestorm of passion. But even though Grace has amazing extrasensory talents, when it comes to matters of the heart she is a novice. Brice is more than willing to teach Grace what it means to love, emotionally and physically, but first they must find the madman who has been preying on the children
