Dream Weaver Author:Marti Jones Epilogue — The snow stopped, the sun came out, and the temperature soared to a pleasent fifty-five degrees. — On the pavilion in the center of the town square, Brandy stood beside Adam, proudly reciting her wedding vows before the whole town. — To one side, Camel and Dani stood up as witnesses. To the other side, Earl and Maggie looked on, their ar... more »ms draped around one another, their hands each holding that of a twin.
Everybody had come out for the ceremony. Everybody, that is, except the doctor and his daughter. Suzanne refused to leave the house since Brandy's return, and Adam had heard from Dorothy Walker that her father's condition was quickly worsening. Most folks suspected it might be because of the ill-tempered and unfit nurse, Suzanne's absence didn't detract from the beauty and joy of the wedding, and as the tufts of white powdery snow left from the blizzard melted on the ground, Adam proudly married the woman who'd finally made all his dreams come true.
"Congratulations," the minister announced loudly. "You may kiss the bride."
"You bet I will." Adam grinned, clasping Brandy to him. His head lowered, then paused inches from her lips. For a long moment, he studied her beautiful face and her dark eyes. His fingers burshed the waves of blue-black hair cascading over the bodice of her amethyst gown. Who but Brandy would look so lovely in a purple wedding dress?
He smiled and took her mouth in a long, slow kiss. As her arms wound around his neck, the group huddled closer, forming a circle around the happy couple.
The minister patted Dani on the top of her head, and she grinnned up at him. Instantly her eyes landed on the polished silver cross hanging from a briaded chain around his neck.
Her chubby little hand reached out to touch the shimmering object.
"That's a real pretty necklace you have there, sir," she said, her voice alive with interest.
Adam and Brandy spun apart, and their voices chimed with Camel's as they all clutched the little girl at once.
