The first story was a little confusing and unclear. In fact, I thought it was just a prologue or something at first and not the actual story. The second story about Lucivar and Marian was my favorite. I had been disappointed, reading the trilogy, to not see how they met and ended up together so this story definitely filled that hole. And filled it quite well! The third story really made clear just how powerful Saetan could be and what he could be capable of. *shiver* And the fourth story continued on from the trilogy. I'm not sure we really needed the story with the witch who desired Daemon (except as a means of plot) especially since it echoed so much of what had happened between Lucivar and Roxie (who did make an appearance), but otherwise, I really liked finding out what happened to Daemon and Jaenelle.

This anthology is a nice completion to the Dark Jewels trilogy. It fills in many of the gaps, like how Lucivar and Marion met, what happens to Jaenelle and Damien, etc. It makes the original trilogy much more satisfying to have these loose ends tied up.

An excellent prequel an conclusion to the main black jewels trilogy!

The First story is a prequel to all, dealing with the tiny golden spiders, the weavers of dreams and the dragons. How the spiders came to be such powerful weavers, and the dragon who made it possible. It may be slightly confusing, since it is told from the POV of the first queen of the spider and how she went from a simple spider to a thinking and dreaming being who could work Craft, but it did not detract from the other stories any. In the Prince of Ebon Rih, you learn of how Lucivar adapted to his new life and freedom after being saved in Daughter of the Blood, and how he ended up with his wife. Zuulaman, reveals to you just how powerful Satean is and can be when provoked, takes place back when he was married and before Janelle. In Dreams Made Flesh, Damean is learning to take over his new responsibilities as the new High Lord of Hel, while both he and Satean try to come to terms with Janelle's 'lost' power.

A collection of short stories from the world of the Black Jewels, including one about why Sataen is feared so much and what happens with Janelle Angeline and Dameon after the book. If you like the series, a must read.
