I have an unpostable copy of The Dress Lodger that I would like a credit for.  It is borderline unpostable to me because I dribbled a little coffee on the top of the book and there is a stain. It is only on the top of the pages and does not go down into the pages it is completely readable. This book was recommended to me by the HF fans of PBS and it is a great book. I really enjoyed it. It is not posted on my shelf yet so if you want it pm me please. Thanks, Ammie

I hope this doesn't come across wrong, but just to let you know. It's a violation of the rules to request a credit for an unpostable book. You'd do better to offer a deal - using the deals thread (in red) or the deals forum. Your deal could be offering the unpostable free with any order from your bookshelf.

You can offer an unpostable - even an ARC - for a credit.  As long as the other member is aware of the condition, it's fine :)

OK, that's a new one on me. Thanks for the clarification.

I think someone said it had to be done in forum though, not through regular posting. There was string in the mystery forum about this. I had never heard of an ARC  (advance reader copy). Don't you know the next day I got a book from a buddy swap (ordering books for a wish list) and it was an ARC.  Oh well I can still read it.

I haunted the PBS Question forum for the first week or two I was here, and it was clear there that you can ask for a credit for non-postables.  You can't post them, but you can still ask and receive a credit, as long as both parties agree up front.  It's most often done with heavily WL books that technically are not postable but still very readable.

And for future reference, it is supposed to be done in the dedicated offer thread in the applicable genre forum, or in the Bazaar.
