Just want to see if I should be concerned or if this is the norm.  On Saturday, Nov. 22nd, I dropped off two packages at the drop off desk at our post office (had printed/paid for the labels at home, so just dropped them off).  One package was a first class package, the other one was parcel post.   When I checked the tracking info., it says that the first class package has already been delivered; showed all the details from the initial scan (on Nov. 22) to the delivery (today).   As of yet, there is NO info. showing for the parcel post package, not even an initial 'accepted' scan.  Is this typical?  Does it take a few days longer before any scans happen on parcel post packages?   Thinking I should have forked over an extra couple of bucks to send it by Priority Mail, and am getting worried as to what's going on with this package.  Hoping to see SOME kind of scan/tracking on this package soon!

Yes, scans are usually considered Delivery Confirmation and USPS is scanning less enroute (or at least the database available to customers).

Well, five days have passed and still no scan data.  It's just confusing, since dropping off two packages at the exact same time; package #1 was scanned right away and has already been delivered, with scan info. all along the way.   But zero information with the second one.   I'm just wondering if the procedure for parcel post packages is different or perhaps this package has been misplaced somehow.  Frustrating.

Yes, the different postal rates (in my area) are sorted at different facilities.  I've noticed a difference in the number of scans also.  I've also mailed multiple packages on the same day and noticed that the Media Mail picked up a scan within 24 hours, yet a different rate classification might not have a scan appearing for a couple days...then show only the delivery scan without enroute scans.

If you don't see any scans by Monday or Tuesday, you could ask your local PO to check.  Their in house tracking shows more scans than what is available to the general public.

Happy to report that the package was delivered!  The scan/tracking info. never even registered until the day it was delivered.  Just glad it arrived safely.
